Overview:
In 2024, DC Comics presents the Titans: Beast World event, a crossover that centers around Beast Boy and his struggles against a formidable new threat, The Necrostar. Written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by Ivan Reis, this event builds on the ongoing “Dawn of DC” initiative, integrating various heroes and villains from the DC Universe, including Nightwing, Raven, and Cyborg, as they face challenges that transform both heroes and villains into monstrous forms.
This storyline garnered a positive reception from both fans and critics, who praised Taylor’s storytelling and character development. The event revolves around the chaos caused by Beast Boy’s spores, which affect many heroes and villains within the DC Universe. Significant players like Superman and Wonder Woman attempt to combat the escalating trouble, while Amanda Waller’s schemes add another layer of intrigue.
“Beast World” aims to have a similar impact on the DC Universe as past events like Villains Month, setting the stage for future developments in both the Titans and the broader narrative landscape of “Dawn of DC.”

Best Way To Read:
Not Collected Yet
For crossover and significant events, I typically only read the main story the first time I encounter it. Trying to read all of the tie-ins with the story tends to make them increasingly convoluted and are not crucial to the main narrative. However, I think they are important to read, as many series-shifting plotlines can happen.
For the tie-in issues, I only read them as they come up in the reading guide that I am working through. This can become problematic because the tie-in issues are not always included in collected editions of the event. So you may need to hunt for them.
