Overview:
Superman Reborn is a 2017 crossover event in the Superman and Action Comics series, written by Peter J. Tomasi and Dan Jurgens, with artwork by Patrick Gleason and Doug Mahnke. The storyline involves Superman, Lois Lane, and their son, Jon Kent, as they confront an enemy who has tampered with their reality.
The event focuses on the aftermath of DC Rebirth, during which two versions of Superman—one from the New 52 era and the other from pre-Flashpoint—exist simultaneously. The arc tries to address the confusion around these characters and unify the conflicting timelines into one cohesive narrative.
Superman Reborn was generally well-received by both critics and fans. Readers appreciated how it attempted to resolve some of the continuity issues introduced in recent years, though some felt the explanation of events was vague. The artwork, particularly Gleason’s and Mahnke’s work, was praised for its emotional solid tone and dynamic action sequences.

For crossover and significant events, I typically only read the main story the first time I encounter it. Trying to read all of the tie-ins with the story tends to make them increasingly convoluted and are not crucial to the main narrative. However, I think they are important to read, as many series-shifting plotlines can happen.
For the tie-in issues, I only read them as they come up in the reading guide that I am working through. This can become problematic because the tie-in issues are not always included in collected editions of the event. So you may need to hunt for them.
