Overview:
DCU: Trinity is a limited series published in 1993 by DC Comics, written by Gerard Jones and penciled by artists like José Luis García-López and Steve Mattsson. It follows the cosmic struggles of these three groups as they unite to battle a common enemy. Green Lantern, represented by Hal Jordan at this time, teams up with L.E.G.I.O.N. (a law enforcement organization led by Vril Dox) and the Darkstars (a peacekeeping force that includes former Green Lantern John Stewart). Together, they face a cosmic-level threat, the Triarch, which forces these factions—each with its own methods and perspectives on justice and authority—to find a way to work together.
Released during a time when DC was expanding its cosmic universe, DCU: Trinity was met with moderate fanfare. Fans appreciated seeing these three lesser connected-groups interacting, but the event often gets overshadowed by bigger stories from the same period. Still, it offered an exciting look at the interplay between these space-based teams and the complexity of balancing power in the universe.
This is not to be confused with the “Trinity” stories centered around Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

Best Way To Read:
Not Collected
For crossover and significant events, I typically only read the main story the first time I encounter it. Trying to read all of the tie-ins with the story tends to make them increasingly convoluted and are not crucial to the main narrative. However, I think they are important to read, as many series-shifting plotlines can happen.
For the tie-in issues, I only read them as they come up in the reading guide that I am working through. This can become problematic because the tie-in issues are not always included in collected editions of the event. So you may need to hunt for them.
